ARA University Recommended Courses

DOT Hazardous Materials Training - The DOT requires that you complete this training every three years if you perform at least one the following functions:

  • Use the Hazardous Materials Table to classify hazmat, including air shipments
  • Work with hazardous waste shipments
  • Document hazardous material shipments and filling out shipping papers
  • Package, mark, and/or label hazardous materials
  • Load, unload, block, brace, segregate, and/or transport hazmat, as well as report incidents for a parts vehicle

This training satisfies General Awareness, Safety Training and Security Awareness Training requirements. Launch the course to determine which sections you need to complete for certification based on your job function. This training expires 3 years from the completion date.

Estimated Completion Time: 45+ minutes, depending on which sections you need to complete

ARA - Airbag and Explosive Pretensioner Safety:

This training prepares employees in automotive recycling organizations to safely prepare for the removal of airbag and explosive seat belt pretensioners. It also provides safe handling and storage practices, as well as information about shipping, disposal, and resale of airbag and pretensioner modules. Estimated Completion Time: 10-15 minutes
